Statement of Faith

At New Life Community Church, we are faithful to the Scriptures and obedient to the great commission of Jesus Christ. We believe that:

God has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit to His creation in seeking to restore a broken and hurting world to His love, grace and mercy.
The Scriptures are God breathed and inspired, without error in the original texts, and reliable guidance for living, growing, and experiencing the abundant life God intends for His children.
Jesus Christ is God in human flesh, who while divine, lived perfectly in the power of the Holy Spirit so that creation might be redeemed through His life offered to restore the broken relationship with the Father.
Holy Spirit is given to the Body of Christ and to the individual believer to know truth, to bear fruit and be a people of character, and to provide the gifts necessary for the work of restoration that Jesus has given to His people.
It is God's desire that none should be lost. His love is vast and generous for all people, and He invites all people to turn to Him through the saving work of Jesus Christ. In His mercy and grace, though, God allows the freedom of the individual to live in rebellion of His plans for their lives and to reject the gift of New Life offered through Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to continue the work of Christ, spreading the good news of the Gospel so that all people can know God's love.

Jesus was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written, "God's Spirit is on me; he's chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, "This is God's year to act!"

He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the assistant, and sat down. Every eye in the place was on him, intent. Then he started in, "You've just heard Scripture make history. It came true just now in this place."  Luke 4:17-21 (MSG)

This was Jesus' job description, His mission statement. His work was completed on the cross and in the resurrection. For us, that was just the beginning.

As disciples, we are called to continue to His work in the world until He comes again. He has called us to keep His work going so all can know His love. Join us in fulfilling that mission!

Our Core Values

God meets us each where we are and calls us into New Life. These principles guide us as we work to make the most of that call.

Belief in the Scripture

If you have a problem with the Book, the problem’s not the Book.
The Bible is the Word of God, powerful for transforming lives, families, nations. New Life is a safe place to chew on the Scriptures, wrestle with the Scriptures, and study the Scriptures. We believe that the Bible needs to change us; we don’t change the Bible to suit our opinions.

Family (Koinonia)

In the New Testament “koinonia” is the commonality, unity, and fellowship that the church has because of the work of the Holy Spirit holding them together and their common focus on Jesus Christ and His mission over their own prideful interests.
We believe that the Body is there to help the individual grow and to help carry burdens when they get too heavy. The individual, as part of the Body, shares their gifts and blessings for the benefit of the whole.
Just like a family, it’s not only about the rough patches; we celebrate, laugh, worship, pray, study, and have fun together. The good times make us stronger for the hard times, and we are there for each other through all of it.
None of us is perfect, none of us can do it on our own, but we are patient and forgiving and generous to one another. Jesus’ commandment to His disciples was that they would love one another as He had loved them. That is our goal.

Reliance on the Holy Spirit

The Church has no power without the Holy Spirit, and a Christian has no power unless they have the Holy Spirit living in them. The Holy Spirit helps us discern truth, gifts us for growing the Kingdom of God, polishes us for character and Christ-likeness, unifies and blesses the community of God’s people, and guides our ministries and missions.

Discipleship

Receiving the salvation that Jesus offers us is the not end of the Christian journey, it is the beginning. Having been “justified by grace through faith” we begin the process of sanctification – being transformed by participation with Holy Spirit to look, live, act like Jesus, bearing the fruit of the Spirit.
This happens through intentional, ongoing work: studying Scripture, praying, serving, taking accountability, practicing gratitude, generosity, and obedience to Jesus, and embracing conviction by the Holy Spirit. We want to create opportunities to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ together for His glory.
It doesn’t happen by accident and no one can do it for you... but becoming fit for your Holy purpose is worth the effort. We're here to help facilitate that journey.

Mission

The Church is the only organization that exists for those who aren’t yet members.
We know Jesus because someone shared Jesus with us, and our lives were changed. Having been changed, we have Good News (Gospel) to share and declare so that others might know the transforming power of hope, joy, love, and peace in their lives. Mission used to mean going overseas to unreached people, but we know now that many of our friends, neighbors, and family members need to know the love of Jesus, too.
We seek to make New Life a place where people are equipped to share, to create opportunities to share, and to bless other ministries that are sharing in places where we cannot be. We are all missionaries in the place God put us.

New Life Team

We are all in this together! We want everyone to be involved, and to find out how they might fit in so that we can all participate together.
